when are miles deducted?
just used 60K miles to upgrade a buddy and me. its not really worth it, but its a 752 with meal service both ways.
when do the miles come out? i thought they came out instantly.
the upgrades have been confirmed. do they come out now or when travel has been completed?
just curious.

My understanding and what I have seen is that miles are deducted immediately at the time of the upgrade, even if you are waitlisted. This just occured the other day as I am waitlisted for two Intl Flights, the points were deducted at the time of the upgrade request but the upgrade was not finalized.
If the upgrade doesnt process then the miles are redeposited into your account, most likely after you take the flight which was not upgraded.

The miles are deducted when the upgrade is requested. In your case, your account should already show the miles as having been deducted.
