Cingular Wireless Coverage in the DCA PC
I typically use the CRC at DCA, but never have very good reception on my Cingular (formerly AT&T) mobile. I have a few important calls to make today and don't want reception to be an issue. Does anyone know if the Cingular reception in the PC is decent? Thanks.

I use my cell phone quite frequently at the DCA PC. I also have AT&T -> Cingular service and my phone is a Moto SLVR L7 with good reception.

Thanks for the responses. I wanted to make sure I wasn't making the trek for no reason.

Just thought I would let you know that the old ATT equipment may work now but from what I have been told both in store and on the phone is that as the equipment that runs that network breaks down they will not be repairing/maintaining it so you may want to start the migration process to a new phone ASAP.

I used to have an AT&T phone and moved over to Cingular and started experiencing problems. They said my phone was using the old analog towers and so I had to change phone to connect to the Cingular network. Did so 3 months ago and have no problems since. This may be your problem.

not to give other forums a nod, but howard forums have all the wireless carrier's listed there. (www.howardforums.com) Also a lot of markets have been "integrated" or have had the Cingular Blue and Cingular Orange networks combined. I believe that the DC area has been integrated. If you're on Cingular Blue (AT&T) nothing much to worry about. Eventually the MNC (network code) will be decomissioned, and the phone will use the Cingular MNC will be used exclusively.
