Is This Usage of Miles Reasonable...
June, 2007........EWR-AMS-JRO and return. Approximate price is $7500.00 per person BF.
I can book the tickets now for 200,000 miles per person. About $0.0375 per mile used.
Ticket agent has said that perhaps the 120,000 mile upgrade would be available after September, but I would rather be safe than sorry.
What do you think?
Also, it shows only 45 minutes for change of planes in AMS - JRO. Can it be done?
Thanks.

Changing planes in AMS from one non-Schengen country to another is just as easy as changing planes within EWR terminal C. It's a big airport, but everything is connected and the big planes to destinations like EWR and JRO are usually not too far from each other. Obviously if you're flight is delayed, you might have a problem, but as long as things are running on time, 45 minutes should be just fine.
As for whether to bite for the SleazyPass award or not... SleazyPass is almost always available (as long as the flight doesn't actually sell out). So it probably won't hurt to wait a little while and see if any 120k awards come available. But if you are really happy with this itin and you want to look it in, by all means just go ahead and do it. Keep in mind that once you bite the SleazyPass bullet, it actually makes it less likely that the standard award will ever come available, but if it does come available, you should be able to get your 80k miles refunded for a $50 change fee.

I guess I will book it and just keep checking if I can save the 160,000 miles. I just don't want to lose the BF seats.........6'4" - 250.....tight fit in economy.
