I would like to visit Vanconver during the summer just as a vacation. I've found that continental partner Alaskan Air does travel direct from LAX and there first class is pretty reasonable. I also noticed that NWA flies there direct, and the price is about the same. However, the NWA flight is sponsered by Alaskan Air. Does this mean that it is an Alakan Airline plane? Which airline would have the better first class? Hope to book this soon, so I am hoping for quick responces,
Thanks
Thanks

I've never heard of a flight being "sponsored" by another airline. There are NW-coded AS "operated" flights, however.
LAX-YVR is served nonstop by two airlines: Alaska (AS) and Air Canada (AC).
AS also "operates" flights for AA and NW. If you buy a ticket from AA or NW on that route, you will be flying Alaska.
You can also buy the AC flights as UA codeshares.
But now for the real question: why in the world did you post this in the Continental Airlines forum?

Are you a split personality or something?
You just asked yourself (and answered...?) the question we've been asking...

CO runs IAH-YVR year round and EWR-YVR seasonal summer cruise season service.
You can also fly to PDX or SEA where there are many flights on AS/QX to YVR.
Also, DL runs SLC-YVR service, RJ though I think.

Ciffy:
The flight from LAX-YVR is operated by AS. To ensure that you get full EQM/RDM credit, I would suggest booking the AS flight number rather than the NW flight number. According to the partner mileage credit page for AS, you get 100% credit for all AS-operated flights. Unlike all the other partners, however, there is nothing indicating what happens if you are on a NW codeshare that is AS operated, so I would think that you are going to be fighting for credit (and possibly losing the fight).
