Connectivity question: EmPower®
Hello to all,
I was on a NW/CO codeshare flight recently. Had no problems using my laptop (230V/50hz with adapter) on the NW sector, but found I could not do the same on the CO flight -- a B772 -- though I was in a row with a PC power port.
I understand from CO's website that all adapter cables must be EmPower® approved. Does anyone know what this means? -- and what type of sockets are used on CO flights? They have the appearance of two small circular holes.
Thanks.

I'm soo going to get flamed for this... - but we've discussed EmPower many times before... [hence a search might have proved useful].
BTW - You can always buy an EmPower Adaptoor onBoard from Duty Free.

CO 1E: thanks for the links.
Nothing to be afraid of.
Could you point me to some links in the archives if possible? Thanks in advance.

The CO website has this quote:
Passengers may not charge batteries while aboard Continental aircraft. Please remove all rechargeable batteries when using the power port.
I thought most laptops would not run without the battery in place.
In any case, I use my empower adaptor a lot on DL. On bootup, the laptop complains that the power is barely enough for it to get by and it won't be able to charge the battery. OK by me......
