SEQ 74 for an RJ-45

SEQ 74 for an RJ-45
I was flying DAL-IAH yesterday and checked in with sequence number 74. I thought the SEQ was the number that you checked in for that flight. Am I mistaken, is this an error, or does CO Express do something different?

word on the street was that this had something to do wtih continuing flight numbers.
