CO 1 Delayed at IAH

I see that CO 1 is still at the gate in Houston which is 10 hours late for it HNL departure. Does anybody know why? Is now expected to leave at 7:30 PM.

I feel sorry for the folks vacation starts out this way.

I don't know the reason for the delay, but...

Last time we were booked on CO 1, planned as a 777, the same thing happened. But lucky for us, there was a second 767 nonstop HNL departure in just a few hours' time, as well as the 767 nonstop to Maui. The re-scheduled CO 1 departure time was roughly 10pm that evening! So, we were offered seats on the flight departing for HNL a few hours later, OR BizFirst seats on the Maui flight. We took that option, as we were headed to Maui anyway via connection at HNL! CO even let us change our return tix to take the Maui nonstop to IAH, rather than keep our old routing of OGG - HNL - IAH. The OGG - IAH was a great flight. And, it was PACKED everytime I took it, in both directions! I wish it would last!

The grey coat I just talked to confirmed it was a mech. delay - however, she (and the person she called) did not know the exact problem.

Man what a sucky was to start a vacation in paradise.

You had better believe I would have been all over a reroute as soon as possible. There are far too many other options to HNL than to sit in IAH for 10 hours.
