Flying out of the CO terminal this morning at LAX, it seemed to me that there was a lot of extra courtesy going around. The TSA was helpful and every single one of them looked me in the eye and said something pleasant. The security area had been slightly rearranged to make it easier to get bins and get them ready for security. There was extra help at checkin, and at the gate there seemed to be more people around just helping out.
In the PC, several guests were escorted in by CO personnel, and they were very courteous and helped them make sure they had their bags, reassured them about connections, and promised to come back to take them to their gates.
I don't know if CO has any influence over the airport security people, but both the TSA and the CO folks seemed to have all gotten a extra dose of customer service training. Maybe they are getting ready for the holiday?
It sure was nice.

That sounds wonderful. I'm flying out of there on Wednesday, let's hope that they save some for me...

That's nice and all, but that place is still like a bus terminal. There's no food options, the terminal in very plain. Being stuck there on a layover to Hawaii flat out stinks.

Yes, LAX is just one more thing that makes LA closer to a third world, er, "developing country" than anything else. But at least the "Federales" are nice to you, according to the OP.

Having been at LAX for CO and NW, I must say despite it's oldness largeness and business, the TSA and other workers are fairly nice....at both terminals they check if you are elite and send you to your special shorter lines and fairly smooth operations, waits are minimal it seems espcially compared to other stations....
Granted, I do'nt konw who designed Term 6 but it is an awful layout, up down around this around that.....they should be fired!

The LAX CO staff are among the best in the system, they really go out of the way to be welcoming and helpful.
I cannot say the same about the TSA staff as from time to time they can be bark just as loud as their counter-parts at EWR and also share their shoe fetish from time to time.(Which really drives me nuts as their polcies seem to change like the wind, sometimes shoes on/sometimes shoes off/sometimes boarding passes out/sometimes not.)
Granted the terminal is not the world's best but the PClub is nice and people there make the less wonderful terminal acceptable.

Well maybe that's the point, if TSA had consistant policies then terrorist would know what to expect as well...
The LAX PC is much better then the NW WC...and open until the last flight leaves...what a concept!
