When did COExpress pull out of Islip?

I fly once a month (usually) CLE-ISP. When I tried to make a reservation for this coming month, there were no non-stop flights When did CoEx decide to leave this market and is this a seasonal thing or something more akin to leaving CAK?

Also, when and how do we find out about service thats going south. All I get is information on new cities to be served.

They cut this service as of the first of October.
Does anybody know who handels the checkin for CO connection?
They announced the cut when the round of CLE cuts were made.

What other CLE cuts were made? I don't recall a big announcement... certainly nothing like DL's announcement on CVG, etc.

Exclamation What cuts???

Where did you hear that Cleveland was cutting routes?

off topic, but I had a convo with one of the station supervisors and he told me Cleveland is actually getting some new mainline service as well as improved RJ service (whatever that means).

The airport will also get more frequencies to routes in the midwest & southeast and better service after 8PM after MANY MANY complaints to Cleveland airport officials and CO.

I don't know how true this is but I guess its a reaction to DL in cincy; the Cleveland can actually expand; Akron LCC and who knows where JetBlue will end up in NEO & delays in Newark.

OK. I just spent a good 30 minutes looking all over the CO website for "service cuts" or anything that would tell me where service was being terminated. I didn't find a thing in that catagory. However, it was very easy to find the new service that was or is starting up. So if you can show me where this information resides on the website, perhaps I won't be as surprised the next time.

Furthermore, I searched over the internet and looked at Islip's web site and it wasn't even updated to the fact that CoEx had pulled nonstop service to CLE.
It's too bad since the flights appeared full when I flew them and it was convienent avoiding the NYC madhouse that the other three airports are. So now I get to join the masses and fly into NYC and go out onto the island

I think that's a good issue for the CO DO.

Did you call CO and speak w/a live agent who confirmed?

Gonna miss the ISP-CLE flight big time. Can't tell you how many ISP-CLE-EWR-FLL flights I took last year. Really gonna put a damper on my mile running.

Did they ever have an ISP-EWR flight? It seems like it would be a good way to pick up island traffic, especially on the FL flights.

You could always MR through BOS to EWR. That route still exists. Unfortunately for me it's in the wrong direction

Yeah but the fares are sky high with that ISP-BOS-EWR-FLL routing. ISP has Southwest flights so I took advantage of the price matches. Boston is a totally different animal.

Update: As of Dec, they have pulled out of ISP entirely. (The only remaning flight was a once-daily BOS-ISP R/T). Too bad, the flights were always ~80% full, and they were getting a good price for them - $250 each way on all but the most discounted fares. US Air is still operating the route for now.

i wonder what is going to happen to the BOS-HPN (Boston to White Plains) flight, if anything? CO has/had a number of these "one off" flights where they charge the proverbial arm-plus-one-leg.

I dont see B6 coming to NE Ohio as long as FL is flying N/S to LGA and BOS.
Besides for CO N/S service to all 3 NYC airports, AA and DL have non-stops into LGA and JFK.
Too much market saturation for them.
Mind you that FL recently reduced CAK-LGA from 3x daily to 2x daily, so it could be a sign of things to come.
While for the first years of the CAK-LGA route CO largely ignored FL and let the traffic move to CAK, as of the past year of so CO has been aggressively matching each of their sales, pushing the average price on that route way way down.
I remember when FL served PIT-LGA about 5 years ago and was pushed out by US and their $58 RT prices.
I've been flying on CO to LGA for $78RT on all of my recent flights...
FL is very short on LGA slots, and if they reallocate them to another airport, I can't imagine B6 would be far behind...
