Meals for Legroom??

I have read a lot of derogatory comments about the 31" pitch in Y on CO. Suggestions have ranged from MRTC like AA to an E+ section like UA.

Because the potential revenue loss from reducing the number of seats on the aircraft, CO would have to reduce costs in other areas.

My question is: Would you give up meals/snacks in Y on all flights under 3.5 hours (similar to UA or AA) in order to have extra legroom?

Si.

And I predict that FCTSTY is going to post that, anyway, he always brings his own food on board to eat in his exit row seat.

Isn't Le Petite Bistro the bomb?

That bistro chicken is very, very tasty. However, I love that in EWR they use saffron rice. In IAH, the rice is usually just some sort of white fried rice, not nearly as good.

In any event, bistro chicken beats the heck out of any CO onboard food, and all for $6 with salad included

Of course.

Besides, CO doesn't have meals/snacks on all flights below 3.5 hours. Also, have you experienced CO's definition of a "snack" lately? On a TPA-IAH flight a couple of months ago that left at 7:30 a.m., the snack was a prepackaged chocolate doughnut. On a 7:15 a.m. TPA-EWR flight earlier this week, the snack was a prepackaged apple-cinnamon muffin. Both of these flights were over 2 hours in length, and at breakfast time.

Is this like when we gave up complimentary adult beverages on international flights in exchange for enhanced salads?

Anyone know when the enhanced salads will be introduced?

YES.

(I don't expect my favorite restaurant to take me to another city...)

In theory.

I'm 0 for 11 this year on having their credit card machine work. "Oh I'm sorry, our credit card machine is down."

The CO news release announcing the enhanced salads (at the expense of free booze on int'l coach) was the funniest airline press releases ever.

Yes.
The snacks in coach are usually horrible (the apple is usually fine, when served, as is the Ghiradelli chocolate square)

BYO tasty snacks and stretch out more.

But would giving up snack costs make up for lost revenue due to less seats for more legroom?? How many inches would you gain if snacks were totally eliminated?
