Possible second official Continental Event, input please
Okay, Continental is curious if we have any interest and if there would be any benefit for a second event like we had this year. They are thinking better behind the scenes stuff if we do it. They just didn't expect this years response. So:
1) Should we have another event?
2) Would it be beneficial or just a get together.
3) Would the simulators be interesting?
4) Would FLight training be interesting?
5) How about the operations center downtown?
6) Want to see Larry's office?
What does everyone think?

Just one suggestion.
How about making it in Newark. We already did Houston once.

It would be in Houston, or we don't get the big cheese... sorry. They can't give us any real time unless we come to them.
Operations is where they decide EVERYTHING. Who's plane gets down graded, who takes off first, the routing of the planes...etc. It is basically the Death Star. Think darth Vaders control room. Or at least that's how I view it...

Yes to all. ^
As far as getting something out of us, how about focus group type break-out sessions for part of the time so interested parties can give feedback?

well if we do it, we want to improve on last time. I think everyone enjoyed the band (except too loud) and they meet everyone evening in the ballroom. The question and answer with Larry was great, it just needs to move to a big ballroom and have plenty of time. The Mexican dinner conversations went well. I think the tours were the area we can do much more to improve, since the number of attendees wouldn't be such a suprise. But, the concern is would it be well attended if they put out all that money for buses, meals, etc.

Yes to all.
I think the other thread (Positive Input) speaks for itself that there is plenty to discuss and make this a beneficial event for each side.

Um -- *definitely* for all of the above. If I'm not required to be somewhere else I'll be there. Did you really need to ask these questions?

I'd LOVE to see or sit in the simulators and even fly -- it would sure beat the MS-Flight simulator I'm used to or my friend's Cessna!

They have to ask? :)
1) yes
2) absolutely beneficial
3) awesome opportunity...can we do some touch and go's?
4) for sure
5) absolutely
6) he would honestly let us tour his office?
I would add that this might be a good opportunity for their marketing folks to meet with us...we do represent an honest cross section of their customer base with one exception - we are all loyal, repeat customers. I am sure their marketing folks can cook up some focus sessions or surveys to get into our heads and understand us as customers, whether we be CO*s, riff-raffs or somewhere in between.

Yes to all. I'm there. I also like channa's suggestion regarding break-out groups.
Also guaranteed upgrades for all of us on the flights there...

1) Should we have another event? HELL YEAH
2) Would it be beneficial or just a get together. what do you mean?
3) Would the simulators be interesting? yes

5) How about the operations center downtown? yes
6) Want to see Larry's office? yes
I'd be very interesting in actually having a working session with some of the IT guys (I'm sure channa would also) to work on our hit list of technical issues, in addition to the big boys with regard to working on some policy changes that would be mutually beneficial.
this is something that will never work with 200 people, however, nor will it work with demands like let everyone upgrade to BF on L fares for free. So there should probably be something along the lines of a FT-er discussion on such issues and then a small group that actually does the face to face on that.

Notwithstanding the temporary cut-back in service this fall YEG-IAH
, I'll be there again!!
Air Canada has hosted 3 events since COs do and I went to the YYZ one where they took us to operations control and we got to look at them run the screens, then took us to try out the Airbus 319 and 320 simulators after feeding us the International First Class meal at their caterers near the airport. Notwithstanding that, the CO one was far superior.
