upgrades to Brazil
I am about to reach Silver status. I was wondering whether there is any chance at all one may get an upgrade on a fligth from Houston or Newark to Brazil with a silver status.

None, really. Elite upgrades don't happen on international flights with BF cabins. IF the flight is full in coach and IF they move all the platinums and golds forward and still need seats in the back THEN a silver would miraculously be riding in style. Otherwise, count on using miles.

If you end up flying via PTY on copa you could get an upgrade on any non-bf flights..
