A R/T LAX/IAH or CLE or EWR would do it, depending on how close I am. I am just not sure it's worth it, since I would have to earn the entite 50 K in 2005 before receiving the "Gold" benifit.
DW ?

Well known that NW won't comp based on CO status, wasn't sure if DL had assumed the same roll now that they are in the axis of evil
The basic lesson is not to waste your comps untill you are sure you can use them (ie wasted comp to UA) - Also got a rare comp to Marriott Gold (don't ask how or who, just got it done) and let it go to waste, after focusing on Hilton Points.
Any other suggestions before I book my mileage run ?????????

The benefit was really the *A Gold that came with the UA comp, b/c of lounge access and elite boarding lines, particularly (IME) in Vienna, where the serenity of the Austrian Airlines lounge was a far better alternative to waiting in a long line where one's sole entertainment would have been watching the tick races on the the many folks who seemed to have a rather cavalier attitude about personal hygiene.
Best,

A few years ago I was about 1,000 miles short of silver and CO sent me a marketing letter thanking me for my business, noting that they were extending my status for another year even though I fell short.
