devaluing miles for elite status in 2004
Did anyone notice the program change for where the most travelled fare class will be worth 1/2 as much in regards to elite qualifying miles?

I penned the following to [email protected] and hope others will follow suit.
To Whom it May Concern:
I noticed your Continental Onepass program change devaluing the the S, T, Q & L classes. I have been a longtime Onepass member with Continental Airlines and until now have been very satisfied with your frequent flyer program. However, I believe this new "second class" system where not all flight miles are considered equal in the eyes Onepass elite mileage accrual is seriously misguided and will cost Continental greatly. The policy is bound stress customer loyalty and hinder Continental's ability to continue to build a loyal customer base. You've classified your entry level fares, which are most likely bought by students and vacation travellers, as an inferior when compared to the other classes. This would mean that there is strong disincentive for first time clients to continue flying with Continental. Why fly Continental when the same amount of air flight miles are more valued at a competitor airline? Continental's strategy of forcing people to fly twice as often to earn minimal reward priveledges will prove detrimental to building brand loyalty. One would imagine Continental Airlines would see that treating all types of customers fairly and equally would only help in developing an engaged consumer base.

Believe me, if there is an opinion to be had regarding the change, you can find it in the 12+ pages of posts.
