Great -

Here's the first thing you should correct:

Learn how to use an informative title on a thread.

 Hello. As you know, when an elevator is down, the flight attendants have gone to get more food, right?

Okay! Like perhaps "greetings" or "how do you do?"

- since my post was an attempt to say "hello", I'm not sure how much more descriptive I could have been.

By the way, when jet engines reverse, the fan blades do not suddenly stop and then reverse direction. A common misconception among your ranks!

Only if we're talking about an L-1011! :)

Oh my, I cannot wait
Can you share with us the credentials you possess that will ensure some of our posts are not full of speculative conjecture or uninformed nonsense.

So your post is in error and needs correction. "When jet engines reverse" is inherently false. Jet engines don't reverse, thrust reversers deploy to redirect the thrust forward.

Howdy,

Good luck on your journey... you've got quite a piece of rhubarb pie on your plate! :)

Be sure to lay down the law when people get the 75X/FC/BF nomenclature jambalayaed. Twice within the past two years have panics been started by such a simple misunderstanding.

Well deploy is such a strong word. I would recommend not using it. Deploy troops, not reversers.

Sorry, how about flip the little switch thingies so the reversers become active

I would suggest an intro title of:

"Lurker - I will be correcting any mistakes made by uninformed posters"

Hello sort of begs the question.

I welcome your input and corrections. I assume that CO has tasked you with doing this job. It is in the interest of all that accurate information is posted as lots of people read these threads. I would say that this board is generally not abused and that most information is accurate by the regular posters.

I'd place good money [and I'm not a gambling man] that we have just been introduced to someone's split personality...

[Nothing Lithium or Abilify can't fix I'm sure...]

No I'm afraid that wont work either.

Reverse the engines is perfectly acceptable - as long as you know the internal workings of the engine do not literally reverse direction. If you start saying "deploy" when talking about flaps, speedbrakes, or buckets, you start to sound like someone on Airliners.net!

We "raise/lower/set" flaps
We "open" ,"close", or "arm" speedbrakes or spoilers

Wow! This is a rewarding endeavour already!!! :D
