dividing reservations - a question

My partner, myself, and 2 other people are traveling ORD-BCN on the "Air Europa" special that was on Mileage Run a while back.

The reservation was booked through Orbitz, and the flights have Air Europa flight numbers.

I want to divide my partner and I into separate reservations so we have a shot at EUA processing.

Continental advised that they cannot do this -- as it would jeopardize the reservation portion with Air Europa (MAD-BCN-MAD).

Is this really true? I would think that Continental could divide our reservations in their system without having any impact on the Air Europa flights.

You have an Air Europa ticket, so you need to get Air Europa to do it.

CO is not the issuing carrier nor the issuing agent. So calling CO to do this may indeed jeopardize your downline flights.

Good luck with Air Europa.

Yeah...I figured it would be next to impossible to explain to Air Europa...so I ended up having Orbitz do it...I hope it works out ok...

this may work...

get your CO confirmation number.

i was told that even though you purchased the ticket from someone else, and it was issued by another airline, that you still have a mirror record in CO's system. if you can get that confirmation number, you may be able to find your res. at co.com using your conf. number and your last name.

if it works, there should be a link that will allow you to split everyone off individually. im not sure if this will jeapordize the air eurpoa portion, but it may work for you.
