Is it me, or is there something wrong with this policy? You can't get a refund if you're affected? You only have 3 weeks in which to finish your travel? Am I missing something (especially since they're saying the storm will hit on Thursday 9/18, and in any case why would someone fly today or tomorrow to a destination that is going to be hit a day later)????!!!
Continental does provide the option to reschedule or reroute your travel if you are ticketed to/from/through one of these cities on/before Sep. 19, 2003. Travel must be completed by Oct. 12, 2003. Please contact Continental reservations for assistance:
(I know someone who was just affected by the hurricane in Bermuda, & USAir called to tell them a few days before the flight was canceled & it was their choice for a full refund or up to a year to reschedule the trip.)

Do you know the fare in which this person's ticket was purchased? Maybe his or her restrictions were more lenient than your fare class.

It wasn't me that was flying to Bermuda, but a friend. I don't know what fare class, but it was booked nearly a year out & wasn't an expensive ticket...

Checking on the flight for my future in-laws, CO has cancelled flight 344 for tomorrow.
Looking further, it seems that they've cancelled all RDU->EWR flights for tomorrow, and all EWR->RDU flights from this evening on, so they don't want the planes sitting in RDU for the storm.
They do still seem to have RDU->CLE flights listed.
It's going to be a bit of a mess to sort out once the storm is over, especially with the added runway delays at EWR.

I was scheduled on a 4:15 today EWR-MDW, went to do an e checkin this am, and low & behold found my flight was cancelled! (No e mail or phone call from either my corporate travel agent or CO--but thats another matter). I call OP & found they'd rebooked me on the 8:15pm. She then told me they were cancelling almost half the EWR flights due to the impending storm. With the storm now forcast for later this evening, I would have thought they'd cancel those & try and get the earlier ones out????

They then offered the 4pm the next day. "What about the earlier flights the next day?"
"They're sold out"
"Then give me a refund"
"No, we'll only give you a voucher"
"Get a supervisor on the line"
"OK, we can 'force' you onto the earlier flight"
"Never mind for now"
Anyway, America West had a flight PHX-EWR about an hour before my original CO flight that hadn't been cancelled. CO wouldn't endorse the ticket over, so my company had to fork over another $400 for the one-way ticket on HP.
Lo and behold, the HP flight arrived more or less on time into EWR. And it was empty in back, so I had a whole row to myself. In-flight service was pathetic -- only peanuts on a 4+ hr flight, and only one bev service that I was aware of. But I got home.
Now I am fighting the battle to get the miles credited for the CO flight so that I can qualify for a fly-3, get Gold status promotion.
