Posting of Segments and Effective Dates
I’ll be making a quick trip to Florida at the end of the month. The three CO segments on the outbound leg will qualify for OP silver elite – no biggie for some of you guys – but it is to me. I return the next day on CO. What are the chances that the three flights will post and my elite level will actually process overnight? If it doesn’t, how can I get upgraded on the return? Also, what I can do to use the elite line through security? I know the OP pages states that elite benefits start the next day. Finally I’ll qualify silver elite on a Tuesday and then I have a trip on NW on Saturday. What can I do to ensure my elite level is communicated to NW so I can try for an upgrade on Saturday?
Thanks in advance.

This happened to me with a two day window between. My new status showed on my BP for the next flight. Although the Web site check for status was not yet modified.
Not sure if that is always the case.

I think OP numbers and status are transmitted to NW via tape once every few weeks. I doubt it would be picked up within a week by NW, but you never know. Your best bet is to call NW after the new status is showing in the CO system.
