Beware using CO miles for AS awards!
Since this is CO-related, I thought I would share my experience in this forum in addition to the AS forum:

Sorry to say, but this is not uncommon and somewhat expected. Virtually any time you have a paper ticket you can't make any changes (nor can the airline just make changes for you) w/o a reissue of the ticket.
This would normally happen when the airlines have more of a soft FF agreement. I had similar things happen to me when using NW miles to book travel on Hawaiian Airlines. And, recently when I used Hawaiian miles (transferred from Amex) to book travel on Alaska Airlines.
CO didn't even send me notification when my outbounds to HNL kept on getting moved around, but NW did send me updates everytime my HA flights changes. And I swear, both of those flights were changing like every 60 days for about 8 or 9 months.

Yeah, but my concern was that we weren't even confirmed onto another flight...I can understand having to reissue the paper ticket, but not confirming me was a big scare - what if I hadn't checked and tried to check-in for the flight which didn't exist and/or I didn't have seats on? Fortunately, AS employees are usually very accomodating but you never know......
