CO/NW Codeshare EUA: Who Processes?
I've never posted here before because running a search always seems to turn up the info I'm looking for, but in this case I can't seem to find the answer to my question. Does anyone know:
Which airline's EUA program processes my upgrade if I have a CO-issued ticket, with a CO-code flight number, on metal operated by NW, with my OnePass elite number in the reservation?
Or vice versa (I'm assuming it's the same both ways).
Is it processed by NW because it's their plane? Or is it processed by CO because it's their record?
And, will this even matter in terms of F seat availability (i.e., is the entire bucket of EUA-elligible seats made available to elites of both programs at the same time)?
Any clarification will be most appreciated.
Thanks -

The Airline operating the flight will issue the Upgrade. In your case it will be NW.
If it was a NW Ticket on CO metal, then CO would issue the U/G.
However, if the flight is on NW metal, you may not get an e-mail.

I've found that on a NW codeshare I haven't gotten the upgrade emails, but if you just check your co.com reservation after your EUA window you will see your seat assignment changed to one in first class (Then I usually call NW to confirm the row number and window/aisle preference).

I am on a CO ticket on NW metal. Looking at seatmap.com, the F availability differs from CO to NW on the same flight:
NW 1447 ORF 1600 DTW 1754 D9S 0
P9 F9 Y4 B0 M0 H0 Q0 V0 K0
CO 6447 ORF 1600 DTW 1754 D9S 0
A9 D9 F2 Y1 H0 K0 B0 V0 Q0 T0 S0 L0
My question: whose F bucket does the upgrade come from if I'm on CO6447 but since it's NW metal, they process the u/g?
NW 1447 ORF 1600 DTW 1754 D9S 0
P9 F9 Y4 B0 M0 H0 Q0 V0 K0
CO 6447 ORF 1600 DTW 1754 D9S 0

Flying NW Ticket on CO metal this Friday... received EUA e-mail Sunday Night!
No e-mail, per normal, for EUA on NW portions.

Actually, I've found that the airline you book with is the airline that process the upgrade. The inventory also differs on the CO and NW flight numbers. This has helped many times before when the CO flight numbers were showing F0 (CO operated), and the NW flight numbers were showing F2. Since I had booked with Northwest, I was able to call and be upgraded, even with F0 on the CO flight numbers.
