Fare Class Explanation ??

Can anyone explain the differences between the fare classes? (i.e Y,H,K,B,V,Q,T and any others) I understand what Y class is, but how about the rest?

Y is full fare coach, the others are discounted coach. Each fare "bucket" is alloted x number of seats per flight based on whatever the crystal ball in yield management says the market will bear.

Not sure where I'm going, but I'm getting there fast.

i actually think there is a better thread out there that explains this. it had a pretty comprehensive list--even better than dbaker's list. but, i have no clue how to post links.

E is domestic standard First Class award

W is SleazyPass Coach award (forget if it's domestic of international)

but, there was a thread in the past that listed fare codes and flyertalkers kept adding to the list.

EG is a standard BF (BusinessFirst) award. i am not sure if this is the special code for platinum standard BF awards or if it is any standard BF awards (assuming those exist).

At the top of any thread is a link that says "FlyerTalkers send this thread via email". If you click on that you get to a screen which displays the link to the thread. Copy the link. Hit your back button. Reply to the thread and paste. Done.
