HoKeY upgrade on multi-segment question

Hi,

A search did not reveal the answer, so forgive me if already been asked. I am potentially going to book a r/t that is pricing the outbound segments EWR-IAH-HNL-GUM-NRT-SIN as K fares.

My question is if I decide to try and use miles to upgrade, would one North America to Asia 25k reward work, or would it require a N. America to Hawaii and a seperate Hawaii to Asia...2 rewards at 37,500 miles.

Also, pushing my luck cause' I know this part has been asked. Will I need to wait until 30 days before to be put on waitlist for K fare should I choose to do it?.

Thanks

Upgrades r/t to Asia cost 50,000 miles (25 each way) and that would include your whole trip--as long as upgrades were available on all segments. Fortunately, the dreaded 30 day rule doesn't apply to Asia upgrades. So no matter how far out you book, if the upgrades are available, you get them when buying your ticket!

I have thought about doing the same run and would like to know how you are going to SIN directly from GUM? Thanks

Oops, it is actually EWR-IAH-HNL-GUM-NRT-SIN. Didn't even notice the missing city

That's how it comes up each time using multi-city option on continental.com when I type in EWR-HNL-SIN

Hi,
Only my outbound priced out in K class, the return in V class. So I was only thinking of upgrading one-way & coach the way back. I am correct that I need to finalize the ticket over the phone and request the upgrade award at that time versus buying ticket on-line and then calling in after?.

Thanks
