Checking luggage
I have an upcoming trip that I'm thinking of taking my golf clubs with me. I'm wondering if anyone knows what is the maximum number of segments that you can check a bag for. My routing is FLL-IAH-LAX-NRT-GUM. The other catch is that the flight from LAX-NRT is on NWA, so I would be swithing airlines twice. Any help is appreciated.

I checked in for a 5 segment trip at 8 am and my return, 4 segments, was scheduled to start at 6:30 am the next day. I received all nine boarding passes when I checked in for the outbound trip. Boy was the the agent confused when all those boarding passes printed out.
