Waitlist for First
Used standard miles for BF ticket to HNL.
DCA-IAH portion was (clutch the pearls) unavailable in F.
Thus, we're on a waitlist.
When EUA opens up (rather, IF it opens up) what's out priority? CO agents provide conflicting info. Can you gals and guys help?

IMHO, the more important question is "How in the HE** did you manage to get a standard BF award to HNL??"

Really, securing the seats was all about luck. I'd been checking for a few weeks and suddenly saw Z inventory open up. On a whim, I called to see if any E/G seats were available within that Z bucket... and they were!
I'm Plat, and maybe that helped... but what's interesting to note is that CO.com showed NO availability at the SAME time the agent on the phone confirmed our reservation. Hmmm.
What's funny is that the DCA-IAH leg required a waitlist but the IAH HNL did not!
We got HNL EWR on the return... and EWR to DCA in an ALL-FIRST CLASS ERJ. Wooo Hooo!
So, we got lucky.
And, to wrap up this thread... the waitlist cleared yesterday. We got a phone message last night from CO.
I am 100% shocked that it all worked.
Happy, but still shocked.
This is why MissBumpMe! and I left DL cold turkey.

Maybe I do need to go buy that powerball ticket. I as also able to get accomodations in Maui with Marriott points.

Got a kind of related question. I used mileage to upgrade a K-fare CLE-EWR-HNL on 22 May. CLE-EWR segment hasn't cleared the waitlist to first. When checking availability this is what I get:
CO 124 CLE 0735 EWR 0900 735 0
A9 DL FL Y9 H9 K9 B9 V9 Q9 T4 S4 L9
What does "FL" mean? I checked the seat mapper and only 1/10 F seats is assigned. Any chance of getting into first (I realize it's not a big deal on such a short flight, but it's the principle of using miles for the upgrade and possibly not getting it). Also, you cannot add this itinerary to the CO website, since the one segment is waitlisted-how stupid!-as I like to check on time chages and seat assignment changes online.
