extend a voucher?
I've got a couple vouchers (one for $50 and another for $350) from CO that are due to expire in April. On the routes I'm flying over the next year or so, NW has much cheaper fares ($180 vs. CO's $380). Rather than lose the certs (or use them just to fly jungle jets), I'd like to extend them.
I think I can do this by purchasing a couple full-fare refundable tickets to anywhere (one for each voucher), then requesting a refund. They'd refund the $350 and $50 respectivly in new vouchers and the rest to my credit card, I'm hoping. Would the new "vouchers" be good for an additional year?

You won't get the "refund" you are hoping for. The voucher require an exchange transaction, and the voucher numbers will be on the ticket. It'll flag the revenue people and usually stop the refund. Best thing to do is park the money in a refundable ticket, and exchange it later for a ticket you'll actually use. There are many fully changable without penalty Q fares in markets were CO competes with Southwest.
