Does Amadeus really show "R". I thought it was hidden and internal to CO only?

Can't find any Upgrade class codes using KVS
Yes, it definitely does
Well, I can't seem to find them, even using Amadeus. Or Apollo ITN/UA. :( Also, are there other hidden fare bucket codes on Continental? And are they the same on COPA? |

But remember everyone, fare class "R" cannot happen on int'l routes, right?

R class on intl. segments is the upgrade to BF bucket. Also, when R is available, standard BF awards are highly likely to be available.
|
CO Connections
Using Amadeus no CO connections are being seen, say for PHL-JAX as an example. Non-stops to/from hubs are found.
Am I missing something? |

DL and FL flight, everything is CLT and IAD (also 4 NS's). I wouldn't call that a plethora of 'other routes'.

Is there any way to pull up a CO PNR?

Vulcan,
Not only do they show it, the info is "dead-on" accurate. Knowledge is power and this tool has helped in my decision making and thus saved me from coach. I don't not know how KVS get's the R bucket since I use Amadeus Professional GDS in my office on which R is hidden but KVS does show it in the *AUA version. .

I find it very very strange that this city pair yields nothing but UA/US with a single DL and FL thrown in. Why a single DL, what with their hourly PHl-ATL service and probably the same on to JAX? On the surface, something doesn't look rigtht and I suspect a bias. Perhaps there are other constricting criteria, maybe something silly like max 60 min. layover or something like that, I don't know. But on the surface, it does not look like a fair representation of flights. |
Here's the pecking order on intl BF buckets:
E: General standard mileage awards F: Platinum standard mileage awards P: Easy pass Mileage awards R: All mileage cash-in awards on revenue tix. Of course, there is no Intl EUA.

(a) US is the only carrier that has non-stop flights on this route, so its flights are listed first (taking 7 out of the 20 spots); (b) There is no way to limit results to a specific carrier in Amadeus, so only 20 out of possible, say, 1000 combinations are shown. See also: http://www.FlyerTalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=603988 Wow. Thank you sooo much. You continually to amaze me in bringing this valuable information to us. The ability to now see CO "F" is invaluable to me in planning trips. For instance, on a trip I have this Wednesday where I have not cleared the upgrade list, I can see that F=2. |

I knew something had to be done when I started receiving PMs from CO users suffering from the R-Class Withdrawal Syndrome :). |
I just started to try to use the KVS tool and wondered if the tool is broken or the CO WWW site broken (I know I bet its the CO Site).
I am trying to book a CLE-NRT flight for 10/21/06 returning on 10/27/06. Just looking at the departure the CO site shows a connection through EWR but the KVS tool (checked multiple methods) never shows this as an option, it routes me on an ERJ through ORD. CO and Expedia also show many seats available on the EWR route....Did I do something wrong using the KVS tool or should I tend to beleive the CO WWW site problems are to blame. |
Of course, there is no Intl EUA.
They dont advertise them but if its a full flight they do do them...3 times this summer I have been EUA at the gate for Intl flights, all because they were overbooked....once to Beijing....how sweet that was. Thanks CO! |

Please note that the top post has been updated to reflect the latest changes:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...61#post6964161 http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...24#post7063824 While there is currently no way to see CO F-class availability directly, if one knows (or can establish) the correlation between the the standard business award class (E/CS) availability, the non-restricted business award availability (P/CA) and the upgrade availability, then upgrade availability can be estimated using those factors ... |
