$300 Change Fee?

I noticed at the bottom of an ad for a $316 ticket ($158 each way) to Geneva from Newark that the change fee is $300. Is the $300 change fee new? If that is the case, the ticket is essentially not usable if your plans change.

International change fees vary by fare code. An international round trip change can amount to $300.
