What are "segments/points"?

What are "segments/points"?
I know what segments are, and I know what points are. But on the CO website describing the Triple bonus, it repeatedly refers to segments/points.
Now to me, "triple segments/points" means triple segments and/or triple miles. I can't find anywhere on the site that clarifies this little big of grammatical gobbledeygook, but reading other posts in this forum suggest you only get triple segment credit, and not triple miles?
Do I have this right, or am I missing something?

The triple "segments/points" have no impact on mileage, only on segments. Continental does not currently have a point system (though this may be a hint of things to come), but does allow qualification via segments (30 silver, 60 gold, 90 plat).
