Change in Flight Schedule
Called today to get upgraded seats on RT EWR-FLL on 2/7/03 which I booked through coninental.com in 10/02. Agent said "Oh by the way, the return flight has been changed from 9:30AM to 1:30PM due to schedule changes" (9:30AM flight apparently cancelled). Luckily this does not make difference to me but 1) I was never informed of the change via email, phone or otherwise and 2) this seems to be enough of a time differnce, where if it did pose a problem, I should not be charged for any re-scheduling fees.
Anyone have recent experience with this?

I have had similar cases happen and was able to re-schedule. In one case with NW I completely cancelled the reservation due to a schedule change and was given a full refund.

The CLE - EWR leg of my CLE - EWR - AUA flight was discontinued. I now have to fly to EWR the evening before and stay at a hotel in order to keep my OP tix. My return flight was also eliminated so I have to stay over on the return. I was never contacted by CO. I found out only when I tried check on my reservation.

From my past experiences, they will generally allow changes or refunds in these sorts of situations.

I have had this happen one time. The one time was on Northwest and the airline happend to call me to inform of the change. They gave me the option of changing the ticket to a different time or canceling all togehter for no fee. I am sure this is what CO will do for you.

I have had this happen at least three times in the last four months with Continental where they have changed my flights and not informed me. When I call to complain the answer I get is "it is always advisable to call and reconfirm your flights." When I am flying two or three times a week, I don't think this is too reasonable. They have my email address, my home phone number, my cell phone number and my office phone number so it shouldn't be too hard for them to contact me when they change a flight. But with the way the airline industry is functioning today I guess that is way to much to expect.
