VS UC lounge use on CO codeshare

My first reply from VS, some of my replies from CO denied VS access, and all denied CO lounge access.

I do apologise for the confusing information that you have received so far.
Let me straighten this out for you.

As long as you are holding an Upper Class ticket, you may certainly use the
Virgin Atlantic lounges at both Washington Dulles
and London Heathrow, the only thing that you may not use is the Revivals
lounge upon your arrival at London Heathrow.

I hope this makes things a little more clearer, but if you have any further
questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely

I flew VS-UC from LAX to LHR on award seats issued by CO last Spring. I had a close connection so didn't use any lounge on the outbound either at LAX or LHR. On my return, when I connected through LHR I was directed to Revivals where we were expected and greeted by name. I take this communication from VS to mean that I would have been denied access to Revivals only on the outbound portion of my trip. That makes no sense.

Yes, this is all absolutely correct. On arrival into LHR, you may use the Air Canada lounge, which frankly is just fine. On departure from LHR, you may use the Virgin lounge.

Some FlyerTalkers have reported success at getting into the Virgin Revivals lounge on arrival, but whne I tried this they had a list of all pax and identified me and directed me to Air Canada.

Yes. Mere possession of a CO (stock) UC ticket grants you access to the AC Arrivals Lounge as well as the VS Clubhouse (though, not Revivals). Just make certain that at your North American departure point you see a CO concierge to have them let the Air Canada people know that you will be arriving, and you will be on their 'list.' If you cannot find a CO concierge, just have a VS representative pass the message along to AC. I have had this done with no problems.

You do not need to have any CO elite status to have these benefits; just a CO ticket booked in VS UC.
