upgrade waitlist question--does this make sense?
I purchased a ticket from EWR-Hong Kong in Q class and asked to be added to the upgrade waiting list (using the method in which it's $400 a segment and 25000 miles per leg to upgrade). I was told by the agent that the waitlist is too full to add my name to it and they are not accepting names to the waitlist. The trip is a month from now, they seem to have 28 BF seats open, and I am platinum, so I was surprised.
Does this make sense? The agent sounded none too bright, so I wasn't sure.

If I played the HoKeY, I will be upgraded on the moment when I ticket it! But I am too cheap to pay the extra $1200!
