CO Miles need to be borrowed

I need to get my friend an award sfo-phl for OCT 24-27. I transfered a bunch of miles on the Amtrak/UA Deal. So I do not have the needed 20K now. I have a LON mileage run in NOV. I will either give you back the miles in the form of from my account, or I will transfer to Amtrak/your CO account. If anyone can cough up 20K for a few weeks my friend, and I would appreciate it. When I get my certs from UA I will also send you a couple UA50 vouchers.

Thanks

If you belong to Amex MR, you can borrow up to 10K ( or is it 12K) miles each year. This is against anticipated earning of future miles.

Is there absolutly no one out there who can not spare 20K for three weeks? With all the people who cannot use their miles I am sure someone can cough up 20K as a big favor. You will be refunded ASAP via an Amtrak transfer. I will throw in some hotel vouchers too.

Please someone help out.. I am trying to help get a "poor" college student home all on my own goodwill so I cannot offer much in return as I am loosing the miles anyway.

Thanks

Hopefully you've paid back your previous debt before going deeper in?

Well that is actually the reason I need the CO miles. I transfered them all to UA so I am building them up again, but not fast enough. Sad now a days that no one can trust anyone as I can see here.... If a respectable flyer talker can do this I will give them cash up front to hold on to until I pay them back. If not I understand, some people just have to screw it up for the rest of us (cough jag cough) Sorry. I know if a respectable person asked for 20K and I had it I would be happy to help out. I must be a rarity.

Even if I were inclined to loan 20k to someone who regularly trashes hotel rooms, why would I? Like many (most?) people here, I never redeem miles for domestic coach tickets, and since your miles cannot be combined with mine, your 20k would do me no good at all.

Here is the link to the infamous hotel room incident which no doubt added no small measure of credibility to the HHonors Diamond VIP membership worldwide. It actually makes for fun reading:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum57/HTML/003269.html

With respect to Ryan and his remark that: "if not I understand, some people just have to screw it up for the rest of us."

I recall that I tried to help Ryan back in August (sent several emails back and forth) but he didn't follow through - never replied when he said he would - after making numerous promises to "draw up an agreement to protect both of us."

Quite honestly, I think that he is the sort of person who has "screwed it up" for the rest of us by his poor handling of my good- natured offer of assistance. He never even followed up with a "thanks, but no thanks" email. What really is annoying is his attitude of entitlement: i.e. - "isn't there ANYONE who would be willing to help, etc."

Frankly, elite travellers like this individual give those of us who maintain some measure of decorum and good taste a bad name. To all my fellow good-Samaritans in the friendly skies of Flyertalk - be careful. As Frank Sinatra used to lament - "A friend in need is a pest."

Hotlancer,
To tell you the truth I do not know who you are. If I had my old PC I would dig up emails. I do remember starting a transaction with someone, and my miles posted and I notified the person. Maybe that is you. Also my email adress has changed as I had major problems with the email and service cutting out. So if that is you I do apolagize. I don't appreciate you making me look like a liar on this board, I have done transactions with different FTers and given out certs etc, and never had a problem, so please don't try to take my credibility away. Personally I could care less how you think of me as everyone has their own opinion, and I would be a jerk to be offended by your words. As for the hotel incident I should have not brought that up on FT. I like to have fun, and I have spent lots of money doing just that. Thats how I get points. My point of the Hilton experience was the poor contact from the hotel. Looking at the situation I don't really care what the costs were (although I did then) but what got to me was that they charged me, and treated me like dirt when I questioned the reasons, and would not allow me to pay cash, when I did not want the charge card charged.. On most occasions that a room may need a little more cleaning attention usually the incidentals make the hotel not mind. (which brings memories of the new FS SF. As for the Concord Hilton they did not use customer service skills at all. Like I said it was not the money yet the way things were handled. I got my miles I don't need to borrow them, I will continue to give what I can, and people like yourself can think what you want, I am too young to care, Well time for me to head out to the City checkin to the W head out for a night on the town come back with some people and mess up the room a little (Not to where I will be charged) Flame me all you want
