Continental execs qualify for bonuses
http://www.usatoday.com/usatonline/2...5/4534316s.htm
"Continental Airlines CEO Gordon Bethune qualified for a $162,800 first-quarter bonus, in effect because his company lost less money than its rivals.
The airline's first-quarter operating loss, excluding write-offs, was less than a targeted $126 million, so Bethune and other senior executives earned bonuses equal to 62.5% of their salaries."
So what bonuses did the passengers qualify for?

And the gap between the haves and the have nots grows ever wider.

Yeah, and what it takes to be considered a "Have" by a "Have Not" is considerably less than it once was. But that's another topic for another time.
I think we now know why we have beverage charges in Int'l coach now. And this certainly explains the "No Waivers or Favors" rule. Looks like we're feeding a bonus fund!

No executive in a company should be paid a bonus in a year where there are no profits or when there are significant lay-offs or salary/benefit reductions for employees. This is in such poor taste and a slap in the face for employees.
What is the bonus payout for the gate agents because of this wonderful performance?
