Elite accounts can still use a UF0 to upgrade anyone on a "T, Q, or V" fare. Non-elite accounts cannot upgrade these tickets purchased 1/1/03 or later.

"an UF0" sounds awkward to me. "a UF0" sounds fine. Any writing style experts out there?

Hey ResAgent, what's a flyin' saucer got to do with upgrades???

p.s. I just noticed that CAL stock went down over 15% today. Anything else in the news that would account for that?

I think these changes are minimal. If anything, it will INCREASE elites chances to upgrade. I spoke with an agent this evening who said that elite members may still upgrade non-elite family/friends with their miles, even on Q and T fares.
To me, Continental is showing that they value elites, and given an incentive for flyers to gain elite status.
In my opinion, they just made the program better.

Does this apply for only the "companion" elite upgrade feature for Golds/Plats??

In other words can I upgrade my wife on a trip weeks before the flight instead of waiting to upgrade at the airport as my companion??

When pronouncing abbreviations, "a UFO" is correct. For normal words, "an u-word" is correct.

Basically just go with whatever sounds better. :-)

They said that if the miles were redeemed out of an elite member's account, then the status of the flyer does not matter.

Merrill Lynch downgrading CAL and a few reports that indicate a general concensus that airline stocks are doomed.

As far as an investor is concerned, these Onepass changes reduce cost and increase revenue.

How about a NW or KL member upgrading on a Q,T using NW or KL miles?
