an EUA e-mail, 3 days late...
This afternoon (9/16/02) at 12:12pm EST I received an EUA e-mail for a flight that I took on 09/13/02.
Has anyone seen this before?
The crazy thing is that I don't think I was EUA'd for the flight per se, it was more of checking in, then being persistent to get the upgrade... I thought that I was manually upgraded, but maybe I wasn't and the gate agent took some credit for it, who knows.

You were EUAed, the gate agent didn't do it. Look at the headers in the email, you'll likely see that it was delayed on coair's mail server (OUTBOUND1.dmz.empire.net) for a few days.

Yeh I don't know how CO's mail buffers work, but once I used the website to send a question in, and it apparently got held in limbo for a few days because a week later I get a reply, and the email reported I asked that question just the day before. Go fig

Yep!

Someone, a Plat, also emailed me the other day in a simple case wherein they'd postponed their flight and had not been EUA'd but were two days later - after the flight had lifted!

I'm still witing for a response a week plus later!

Bring back the oldContinental.com!

Heck, bring back the old CO period!
Surely things will improve - and hopefully VERY soon!

I'm not sure if the problem was CO's or their ISP. They're to blame either way, especially since empire.net looks really lame.
Additionally, I don't think that the EUA system has changed at all or is related to the continental web site.

One thing I've noticed flying NWA metal recently is they release all but 1 P seat to F inventory at the plat window and process EUA's. They usually release the remaining P seat 1-3 hours before scheduled departure. This is *wonderful* for me because if I fly the flight I originally bookec, I'm EUA'd as a OP Platinum. If I stand by for an earlier flight, I generally get that one remaining seat they just released to the F inventory.
Of the past 10 or so flights I've taken, I think I've flown about 20% of my originally booked flights; the other 80% have been earlier standby flights and I've been upgraded to F on all but one of those...
NWA could teach CO a few things about elite upgrades & inventory mangement, I think. :-)

To determine the meaning of an abbreviation, run a search for the user "fly co to see the yanks" plus the abbreviation you want defined.
