Booking NW to avoid ERJ
Am I unique in that, when booking a flight, I will select a NW itinerary (with FC cabin, albeit not as nice as on CO) rather than a CO ERJ itinerary (obviously with no FC cabin)? This scenario usually works only on connecting domestic flights, where several connection options may exist.

However, I am doing this less now that I am a platinum and can grab 12A in advance.

I've found 12A with two pillows on the bottom cushion and one stuffed against the lower back make an RJ 'somewhat' comfortable - but not for 3 hours. Anything over 90 minutes in a RJ would send me to NW.

I'll take a creaky old DC-9 any day over a shiny new Jungle Jet any day.

I've wanted to do that, but the fares that get 100% EQMs have always been hundreds of $s higher than Continental, who ain't cheap to begin with.

I have been flying NW more and more to avoid the ERJs. CO does have a far superior FC but with the changes to the upgrade policy at CO and though I am platinum I have been opting to fly NW more and more. So far this year I have scored about 30% FC with CO and 100% FC with NW. Why fly and RJ when I can be sitting in FC on NW.

NW Lounge is also better than CO in my opinion. All NW needs now is free internet access. Once they have that I will renew my membership with them versus CO.

BNA is a city I travel into/out of a lot and ever since CO cut all their mainline flights to BNA and replaced it with ERJs, I now strictly fly NW, despite the fact that the 764s I connect to get to HNL are much nicer than NW's DC-10s. I'm not one for frequency.
