late for a flight?
What happes if I'm coming off of a NW flight 9:02 am, trying to catch a 9:30 am flight on CO and I don't quite make the flight? The two flights are on different reservations. Will CO rebook or waitlist/standby me or just say, "tough luck?" From the 9:30 am flight, I'll be catching flights through EWR and IAH. How likely is it that they might just try to get me straight to IAH (and skip a couple hundred FF miles--not what I would like)? Also, can I print CO boarding passes at any airport even if that's not the airport from which I will leave using that boarding pass? I'm thinking of printing my CO boarding passes in MSP for departure from BOS. Thanks.

CO should put you on standby for a later flight, though since you ticketed on separate reservations, neither NW nor CO can be faulted if you arrive late. (ie no special accomedations)

Assuming that you're traveling on a cheapo ticket the rules say:
In reality, your fate is in the hands of the airport staff, who can tell you TS or accomodate you depending on their mood.
One FlyerTalker reported that after being told "tough luck" by a gate agent, went to the Prez Club and was rebooked on the next flight without any problems.
Code:
NOTE - ITINERARIES MAY BE REBOOKED UP TO ONE YEAR FROM ORIGINAL TICKET ISSUE DATE PROVIDED THE PASSENGER CANCELS THE TICKETED FLIGHT RESERVATION PRIOR TO TICKETED DEPARTURE TIME. IF THE TICKETED FLIGHT RESERVATION IS NOT CANCELLED PRIOR TO TICKETED DEPARTURE TIME REBOOKING IS NOT PERMITTED AND THE TICKET HAS NO VALUE.

When you check in on the NW flight - have the CSA see if they can marry your reservation and check in simultaneously - this will alert CO you are a connecting passenger and may afford you some leeway if you are running late - meaning they may not close the door 15 minutes early...
or - do OLCI for both and play your luck at the connecting airport. CO will more than likely take care of you on a later flight should you misconnect.

You can also try calling CO and see if they can take over your NW booking and place them all on one itinerary - I have done this once - that way you will be checked in from your original destination to your final and they will have responsibility for your transfer.
