Expedia?

I am so disappointed in the prices on CO.COM. Expedia is $50 per ticket less right now for my routes.

I am about to book on Expedia. Are there any major disadvantages (besides losing the 2000 mile on-line CO bonus)? E.g. No OnePass milage credit and EUA problems are my two biggest concerns. Are these issues with Expedia? Thank you.

No other concerns.

Recently Expedia has been pricing lower than any other booking engine IME too.

I've used them many times. I much prefer Expedia to Travelocity or any other non-airline website.

Twice this week I was researching fares from JFK-BKK on NW as CO code share flights.

Travelocity and Orbitz had co flight numbered fares for around $1100. The CO website and the phone reservations had the fare for the same exact flights and times for $2300.

The NWA.com had the same flights for about $1100.

I have found no issues, using Expedia (other than losing the 2k bonus). In fact I have found that the prices have been much lower there recently.

KebaNYC:
The issue is that NW does not release many seats to CO for the NRT-BKK route. Hence, the CO site prices the whole itinerary as Y or J. But NW does release seats to SIN, so if you price out JFK-SIN, the prices are a lot closer, though CO is still usually about $150-150 more than NW for the same seats. The same holds tru for CO metal out of EWR to NRT and then NW beyond.

Thanks Vulcan!

The issue I had was that all of the internet booking sites had the Continental tickets and flight numbers exactly the same as the Continental site for $1K less. The agents on the phone did say that they had access to less inventory, as you described, but why would the price be off that much for the same CO flight #'s???

That is strange. I have been watching some flights and usually CO's website had been cheaper, but only negligibly - like $5 on a ticket - not enough to really matter. There was one time, though, that if you booked a ticket EWR-HNL it was like $1200 a ticket on CO's website, but if you used the air+hotel package on Expedia, it was $1500 for TWO tickets including the hotel stay! My friend took advantage of that deal. I have only seen price differences if they were in packages, so this may be somthing new.

I prefer expedia simply because I do not have to log in to see a price. Sometime travelocity requires it (some links, like "Dream Maps" do not). I hate to divulge demographic info, so I created a fake user on travelocity and use it to check prices. Should I ever buy from them, I will then create a valid account.
