SEQ Question on Boarding Pass
A few weeks ago someone posted that the SEQ number on a boarding pass refers to the order in which you checked-in for the flight... i.e., if I am SEQ 2, I am the second person to check on on OLCI.
I checked in for COX flight IAD-CLE recently... the day of travel, using OLCI just before I left for the airport... and I got SEQ 24.
Got to IAD, and there were only 8 of us on the ERJ145XR to CLE that am. No way I could be the 24th to check in
Any thoughts?

It could be a continuing flight or shared flight number. Perhaps IAD-CLE-XXX, and the CLE-XXX folks bumped up the sequence number.
