Speaking of a CO version of A&E's AIRLINE...

I just got home from a MCI-EWR-IAH-SFO-IAH-EWR-MCI MR. This 2 day outing was full of events that would have made for a great episode of AIRLINE...could have been the "Matt goes on a MR" episode...haha.

To start things off I managed to get into seat 7A (front exit row) on my 757-200 to IAH. First interesting thing was that pro wrestler "The Undertaker" was on the flight in the last row of first class...always neat to see celebs. Well, as the plane is pretty much done boarding and all the carry on space is of course gone, a lady comes walking up and refuses to gate check her bag because it has a laptop and projector in it. The GA (with his wonderful EWR attitude) comes down and simply, yet sternly tells her check the bag or get off the plane. Needless to say she throws a fit and being in 7A I have front row seats...lol. In the end she pulls here precious items and checks the bag.

As we arrive at IAH and are pulling up to E I see some flashing lights and a few firetrucks. I think nothing of it and as I am walking from E7 I think to the PClub in north C terminal (for my dept from C26 which we'll get to later) I am stopped by security and told to turn around and walk back through E over to D and then into C...lol. They wouldn't give me a reason just told me to turn around. Turns out there was a fire or something in the south section of C. So I am relaxing atthe C PClub waiting for my SFO dep from C26. As I go to the gate I get a nice suprise, my flight has had a gate change and is now at E20....lol. Luckily the plane they had was unsuitable and a new plane was brought in delaying the flight and saving me a missed flight.

Now for the grand daddy of em all on my trip. I am gonna have to call this the DIPSH*T OF THE YEAR AWARD. After already being delayed for close to an hour I board my trusty seat 12A in this glorious ERJ145 (just kidding for all you mainliners) and sit and watch as this guy relentlessly tries to fit his rollerbag in the compartment. Finally he just shoves the thing closed with all his might and pops the compartment out of the ceiling. Some of the plastic latches broke and now myself and the other passengers are watching this moron try and fix his F-UP. I then tell him to march up front and let the FA know what he did so we can get on with it and get it fixed. 30 min later there was a new compartment and we were able to leave. This guy had to be the biggest DIPSH*T I've seen this year.

Anyways, enough of my rambling. I'm back home in KC 8286 miles "richer" and I need some rest.

Talk at ya all later.

Matt

Was doing a EWR-IAH-SJU-IAH-DTW-EWR mileage and poker run this week...

I saw those emergency vehicles outside of C Tuesday afternoon while leaving IAH. Thought it was a drill, except for the fact that the fire truck had its boom extended in the air.

Didn't know it was an actual incident.

Had another moron in DTW. Some guys in the World Club were a little out of control, and one knocked over the lamp table behind some chairs. Busted the lamp for good and put a nice sized scratch down the table.

Agent wasn't pleased.

Home relaxed with 7500 more miles and a wallet full of C-notes from the Puerto Ricans.

Yeah...it was a wild trip. Between all the said stuff, plus gate changes and equipment changes I had not a dull moment.

Saw the fire trucks too!!!!

Was on the 05 flight from LGW-IAH, after almost 10 hours flying we had to sit 20ft from the gate for 10minutes for 2 more fire trucks to go past the front of the 777, then parked.

Saw smoke but not much activity. Ran into a red coat who said it was the international business centre or something like that?
