When does EUA run?

Just curious--when does EUA run for the 3 levels?

I know Plat is 5 days before the flight.

Supposedly, Plat 5 days, Gold 3 days, Silver 1 day prior to departure at midnight based on the departure city.

In reality, whenever they want.

its run for each frequent flyer level after they've removed all of the upgradeable seats from the system. then they put them back in approx 3 1/2 hours before the flight you want to be upgraded on, and it appears upgrade by order of check in. so that silver in line ahead of you? he/she gets the seat....

EUA also runs at 3 hours before the flight, after the seats have been released.

"so that silver in line ahead of you? he/she gets the seat.... "

I have gone to the airport 3 1/2 hours before departure just to check in ahead of others plenty of times this year. You know what, as a Silver you got to be smart and do that, or else you will never be up front. We are the scum of the airline remember

OK, I'll bite... EUA runs sometime around 2am - 4am (EST) daily.

The "windows" had been 5-3-1, but now EUA seems to be running every night... as a Plat I recently purchased a ticket on 4 days notice and was upgraded on a few of the segments by the next morning.

When we used to get the EUA e-mails I know that they were usually time-stamped around 2:30am, give or take an hour.

I will also say that I think the airport free for all has ended for the most part. There was a period where it was just awful, but my recent experiences have led me to believe that the "3.5 hr rush to counter" efforts have been thwarted.

In fact, I think they're holding the seats far too long now... a lot of us have seen a marked increase in the "battfield promotion" to First Class. I've had this happen (3) times in the past month or so, compared to never last year.

On my recent trips the gate agents were telling all the non-upgraded Elites that there would be no seats released prior to boarding. If there were seats available they'd come to the back and get you... On my past two trips I've seen them start the standby list and then upgrade pax based upon status and check-in. On my flight yesterday there were (3) FC seats open, I was #2 as a Plat on the FC standby list and I was #2 upgraded on the aircraft. The pax ahead of me on the list was also a Plat, and pax #3 that was upgraded was also a Plat.

I could live without the suspense and drama, but I'm glad I got the seats and that they're following the Elite pecking order. Or, at least it seems that way to me...

Agreed....I've seen a marked improvement in the last 2 weeks or so...my upgrades are coming earlier and there seems to be not as many seats held back...I've flown some fairly popular routes such as EWR-ATL,ATL-IAH etc.....I've seen F6 F7 and even F8's out there.

ah, yes... the infamous CO ATL hub I am assuming that you were travelling last minute from EWR to IAH...

EWR-IAH direct = $1,400+... EWR-ATL-IAH = ~$400...

I've done that thru RDU also, but that airport flat out sucks and the "connections" are far too long, as much as 2.5 - 3 hours... on some of the ATL routes, the aircraft that comes from IAH is the same one that goes to EWR... I know I posted this before, but the last time I did this it was pretty funny... we were on a 735 and I think at least half of the FC pax got off the plane and then reboarded and it was the same crew... the crew was bewildered and we all looked at each other like "hey, you know this too? "

So my getting to the airport 3.5 hours before my flight, getting my boarding pass, and going home wont work anymore? I will have to suffer in the back from now on? ..... at least my next flight is on NW where I have actually been updated 24 hours prior.
