ITN upgrade codes

Hey all. I am just a novice and trying to find out some info. I am planning another trip to Hawaii next January. My plan is to purchase the coach ticket and use either 7500 miles (15k round trip) for the YPASS Upgrade or 17500 (35K round trip) for the Allpass upgrade depending on the fare. I have no silver, gold, etc status on CO. They are my main carrier however and want to fly that long distance in BF (the best service to Hawaii in my opinion. I have never had a problem with NWA but I do not want to fly them to HNL while I can fly CO and BF). I understand that sometimes CO does not release the seats until sometimes a month prior to departure on some flights throughout the system. I was however to get a confirmed upgrade 3 months in advance last year to YVR from EWR. Anyway my question is this. I was ITN and trying to get somewhat profiecient with the system. I picked a random flight from EWR - HNL nonstop for next Janaury and this came up.

J9 D9 Z0 E0 Y9 H9 K9 B9 V9 Q9 T9

What does this mean for trying to by a coach ticket and getting a confirmed upgrade? J is BF but what do D, Z, E, Y stand for. Is that Y comfirmed upgradable using the 7500 miles or does it have to be in D, Z, or E. Is H, B and so on also confirmed upgradeable? Would someone explain this to me.

This is a great site for novices who want to get to know more about the airlines we fly. Hope I made my questions clear. Thanks again for your expert help.

I believe seats have to be available in the Z bucket for BF upgrades. Can anyone else confirm?

Of course, the J, D, Y, H, K, B, V, Q, T buckets are all showing availability. Therefore, none of these could possibly be upgradeable buckets

I believe a Y pass upgrade comes out of the Z inventory.

An allpass upgrade comes out of "R" inventory (which you can't see on ITN).

My upgraded ticket was ticketed in R class last year (EWR-HNL) (after much trouble getting it processed).

I believe this is correct, although you do occasionally get an agent who will force the upgrade into Z...

I think this is the right breakdown; please correct me if I'm wrong. We've had a few questions on this recently...
Fare Codes (on a BF flight):
J = Paid BusinessFirst
D = BF in a combined Int'l/Domestic Itin???
Z = BF Upgradeable seat from Full Y Fare, also sold as consolidator discounted BF fares
E = BF Seat avail purely with miles (can occasionally be seen on ITN)
R = BF Upgradeable seat from discounted coach (AllPass), invisible on ITN.

Y = Full Coach Fare, when u purchase at this fare, you can upgrade on Y-Pass to Z class if avail (current Y8 fare EWR-HNL $2400 R/T)
H and K = Slightly discounted coach fares, upgradeable with AllPass to R class if avail
B and V = Lower, discounted coach class, upgradeable to R class if avail with Allpass PLUS $300 each way.
Q and T = Lowest, discounted coach fares, upgradeable to R class if avail with Allpass PLUS $400 each way.
?? = Coach seat available purely with miles (cannot be see on ITN)

YPass Upgrade to HNL = 7500 miles one-way
AllPass Upgrade to HNL = 17,500 miles one-way

Does this look right?

Edited for first error found!

Can someone please clarify for me the following: If I buy 2 Y fare tickets from EWR-MXP and ITN shows Z 7, does that mean I can get the upgrade to BF using miles at the time of purchase of the ticket or do I still have to wait until the 30 day window?
