upgrade questions

Hope someone can help with these upgrade questions.

1. As a Gold elite, can I upgrade a passenger after I've boarded the plane? I'm thinking a potential client might be on the same plane that I might be on tonite and I'm pretty sure he'll be back in coach.

2. Can I use my miles to upgrade other passengers tickets on some upcoming flights?
These are current clients and I'll like to get some good "mileage" out of my miles. If so, what is the cost in miles?

1. Unlikely... it would be better if you bring them to the GA with you before boarding. They always prefer it if you're on the same PNR
2. Yes, you can, call OP with their PNRs and you can do it. Miles depends on the fare, Y=5000 domestic One way, anything else 10,000 each way.

1) Why do you need to wait until you get on the plane. I'm pretty sure it'd be too late, especially since it's likely all FC seats would be gone. Try to upgrade him when you see him in the boarding area.

2) Yes. You can definitely have paper upgrade certificates issued from your account in someone else's name, but I think you need to call the Onepass service center to do this, not general/elite reservations. I'm not sure if they can do an upgrade for someone else electronically. The number of miles required depends on the origin/destination. Go to continental.com or look at the back of your Onepass statement.

You can upgrade once you've boarded, but you have to either leave the aircraft to speak to the GA or have a redcoat on board do it.
