Code Share and FC Upgrades
I just learned the obvious the hard way. The night before the flight 10 FC seats are open; none F of course. No matter, 10 Plats don't want to go on this little old flight Saturday morning, now do they? So Joey The Gold will be enjoying his piping hot cinnimon bun slathered with melting butter for sure.
I look at the airport departure board and notice that my flight is listed three times. Hmmmm. Once as CO, once as NW and once as Alaska ( I plead the "Yanks" on this one-- I don't know the Alaska Air code). You guessed it, 10 CO Plats may not want this flight, but 10 CO Plats, NW Plats, and Alaska Bannana Slugs (or whatever they call themselves) sure do. So Joey The Gold sits in the back.
Question: How do I find out at the time of booking if my flight is a "code share" (is this the correct term?) in order to avoid the flight and the subsiquent grevious, manifest injustice which was foisted upon me?

Alaska Airlines (AS) Mileage Plan MVP members do not get Elite Upgrades on CO metal, nor do we get that treatment on AS.
FWIW: the flights DO NOT have to be code-shares w/ CO/NW flight numbers for the Elite upgrades on each other's aircraft.
I would be willing to bet that there were not (10) CO/NW Plats, more like any color Elite that got to the airport before you did
the flaw in EUA and the Elite Upgrade process...
