EUA NEVER WORKS!!!!

I'm wondering is it just me, or does everyone else have problems with the EUA not working. I'm flying on the 31st from Mia-iah-dtw-day. The IAH-DTW and DTW-DAY worked fine even though it's on NWA. The CO leg howerver didn't upgrade and their are seats. I called and I was told "Yes, you are in your window, and it seems like the system skipped you. Wait until tonight at midnight" I think that bull. Does anyone have an tips on dealing with this problem? Everytime I fly I have to call.

Not very often, but once in a while I have been able to get a CSR to perform the manual upgrade, but they usually give me $hit about it... typically you need to ask for a supervisor

interesting question though... does EUA run on "off nights?" I mean does it run 4-days and 2-days from departure if the A to F conversion takes place? usually irrelevant becuase the A to F conversion takes place 2 hours before departure.

EUA runs EVERY night, 7 days a week. Remember, just because there are F seats when you check in the daytime, that does not mean there were F seats when EUA ran the night before. There are threads on this which list all the various reasons why this is the case.

That being said, I do find that sometimes, rarely I would have to say, but sometimes, I can see an F seat available right through my EUA window, and not correctly assigned. I have to say that with respect to CO flights (NW different story) EUA seems to work pretty darn well.

Oh and Umguy, respectfully, isn't the title you chose for this topic a little misleading? You don't really mean to say that EUA "never" works, do you?

i.e. someone holding an un-booked reward reservation in First Class, and then calling to cancel his reservation.

No when I say never I mean never. Everything I fly this route, which is quite often either the NWA side doesn't upgrade and I have to call, or the CO side doesn't upgrade. It's never just as simple as it should be.

(1) It might help if you confirm, at the time you purchase your ticket, that NWA's system shows you as a OnePass elite member. (2) Additionally, when you make your reservation, do you give the agent your e-mail address? That may help as well.

The e-mail address is the onepass.com profile, not with the ticket confirmation.

Make sure that your name on the ticket matches the name on your Onepass Elite card.

I'm 100% EUA as gold, so no complaints here.

My son ( a "Jr" ) just made elite for the first time. He was having problems upgrading on NW flights with EUA. Here's what I was told by Ms. Mamood in Onepass:
They have just discovered a "glitch" in NW's system. If you happen to have any suffix on your name, the NW EUA will not read your PNR. The only way around it is for OnePass to eliminate the space between the last name and the suffix. So now, my sons last name reads BENSONJR. Ms. Mamood also said that any time we have a problem with EUA, we should call Onepass with our PNR, and ask the agent to fill out a "system issue form" so they will have an example of the problem, and look into it.

I bought a ticket on NW a couple of days ago. Gave the agent my OnePass number. I asked her if she showed me as elite. She said yes, OnePass record shows as Platinum. I asked her if she had my e-mail address. She said no. I gave it to her and she noted it somewhere.

Perhaps she did not realize it's in the OnePass information, but might there not be another place in the PNR it could be stored?

MEBenson- Same situation for me.....they cut out the space between my last name and the "Jr." and EUA now works fine on NW.

I have NEVER had an EUA upgrade run for me in the past year I have been elite.
Seems like I am being intentionally skipped.
I check ITN each day and see the bucket decrease as each elite window upgrade class runs. Yet it has never happened to me.

I have been Plat with them for over 6 months and taken dozens of flights. I always have to call in and plead over the phone or get upgraded at the gate.

Well, my first "all NW" PNR of the year worked for both myself and Mrs Duxfan. We're not travelling together, but my Plat EUA processed when it was supposed to, her silver EUA did when it was supposed to as well.

UMGUY, did your status change between the time you made this reservation and now? I ran into a similar problem last year. Started the year at Silver, worked up. But EUA looked at the status at the time I was ticketed, not the status I had at of time of travel. The trick was to have my travel agent remove the OnePass number and reenter it after my status changed. That's cleared to problem up nicely.

Well, it happened again. My return, which had seats, didn't upgrade on the Continental side once again, and I had to call only to be told "Well just wait until tonight" But of course I just called back and got someone else to do it. This is crazy, I've been Platinum since August and I've had to call everytime. I really don't understand it. Maybe CO and NW don't like me or my money .
