the BF product is consistent across all equipment types? Either through phased refits or updrades to flat seats, many airlines have different types seat types, IFE etc. in J.[/QUOTE]

BF seats on 777, 767, and 757 are all different (with only minor differences between 767 and 757).

While it is of course personal preference and that matters for a lot, it still amazes me that folks will not have much of an issue with a 737 or 757 on a transcon but think transatlantic flights are torture. Is an hour or so more that much of a difference?

There is personal video in the 757 BF.

BF seats are different 777/767/757

All have 55" pitch. But the widths are 22/21/20 inches for 777/767/757 respectively. The reclines also reduce from 170 degrees to 15" to 14". Not sure how many inches the 170 degree recline translates to, but I bet it's a little better than what's on the 767 and 757. I haven't flown on a BF-configured 757 for about six or seven years now, but I'm going to be re-introduced next month EWR-LIM-IAH. I'm hoping it's not too bad - I'm running the Boston Marathon at noon, getting on a plane that evening for EWR at 7pm and connecting to Lima at 10 pm. I think I'm going to want to sleep.

I was on the int'l 752 on Friday, and while it was a short hop where I didn't sleep, I thought the seat was extremely comfortable and that the recline was excellent (I tried it out just to try it out). It's not the 777 seat, but it's pretty darn good and I'm pretty confident I'd be able to sleep without trouble.

Had the BF 752 SFO-EWR on a redeye a couple weeks ago. Slept like a baby.

Not sure if it was the seat or the multiple Henekens, though...

Coming back from LAS (to EWR) a couple of weeks ago, I got upgraded to the international 757. I found the seat to be very comfortable, had full use of the IFE and as far as 'carts blocking the one aisle', the FA's didn't use them--but served everything individually from the FC galley. So I can't see any problem with flying them across the pond, in fact I'm booked for one EWR-TXL this summer in BF. Now if only they'd release 1 A & B, so I could use the storage cubby in front of those seats

One big difference is that the 757 BF seats don't have EmPower ports.

Which is a very big difference on the westbound flights, since fewer people sleep through the whole flight.

Do the EmPower ports require any particularly complicated wiring, or can they all run off a single bus? What could the incremental cost possibly be for CO to put in EmPower ports in the BF cabins of the 757s that are currently being converted from domestic configurations?

Too bad CO can't brag that they've got power ports in the premium cabin on all flights over 5 hours...
