debiting of miles for OnePass ticket changes...?
Hi, all,
I'm hoping someone has a quick and dirty answer to this question.
I just had to change an award ticket I've been holding (US to Mexico). The new dates now don't include a Saturday stay, so I know it's technically an EasyPass trip and no longer a standard reward. The rep I spoke to didn't seem to notice this---in fact, when I tried asking at the end of the call, "So this is no change in miles needed?", she said, "Right."
She e-mailed me an itinerary confirmation. All is good except that at the bottom, it does list the doubled miles as the number debited, not the standard reward amount.
My online account statement hasn't changed since we talked, but that was less than an hour ago.
So does anyone know---would the rep have had to notice and deliberately instruct the system to debit the add'l miles from my account (in which case it seems like since she didn't, the change won't actually cost me any miles?), or will the system that generated my confirmation also automatically catch that and go ahead and debit the extra 35K miles?
Thanks,
Peggy

Shhhhhhhhhh.......... You might consider revising your FT listed email address so a CO lurker doesnt facilitate the loss of a potential "gift horse".

In the past, when I have done transactions over the phone involving debiting miles, the subtraction from my account has been instantaneous.

I would suggest that you use the InfoPass automated account system to ensure that additional miles have not been taken from your account. The online version of your account info. may not always be up-to-date.

Thanks, all.
Your suggestions have been taken and are appreciated. (Now I feel like I should say no more!) Mr. Nice, you earn your name.

Nice going chai aka [email protected]. I hope you get a freebie. Consider it a small advance compensation for those new ill-named "enhancement" HoKeY FaReS wallet-busters.

US to Mexico award does not require a Saturday night stay for standard or Easypass award level according to my mileage award chart. Unless I am not understanding total question no additional mileage should have been due just for changing dates.
