Humility
While taking advantage of one of the great fares and double miles today, I was placed on hold on the elite line.
First I was a bit annoyed at the long wait. Especially with the bad Muzak.
Then I noticed. It was bad Muzak. MUZAK!!
No announcements on hold!
No "We won all the awards in the universe"
No "Fly us because we're better than you"
No " Did we mention that we win all the awards"
ETC.
After that, the Muzak didn't bother me at all. A pleasant change.

I noticed this too...I thought maybe it was budget cuts - canned generic muzac instead of customized muzac. It made the 20 minutes on hold to get an upgrade reward much more bearable.

Who cares about humility?
After all, once you have it, you've lost it!
And what did CO ever do to be humble about anyway?

Tried the Gold line four times today. After pressing 1 got a busy signal three times. The fourth time the computer didn't recognize my OnePass number.
The agent I finally got through to said the phones were not busy.

But what about parking at the Newark airport? 1-800-EWR-INFO is no more?!

I was on hold last week listening to the recorded gloating, and when my call was answered, I felt obligated to inform the agent that they should correct the message touting their extensive international network, including Dusseldorf and "our new non-stop service to London's Stanstead Airport." Those were the two victims I recognised in the list...may have been others.
Perhaps they've removed it until their faceless voice has the time to record a corrected message.
