Question Can violin cases (31" x 5" x 10") fit in the overhead bins on CO Express RJ-145s?

Can violin cases fit in the overhead bins on CO Express RJ-145s?

Exact dimensions: 31" x 5" x 10" rectangular case
Total measurement is 46" which is under CO's policy of
51"....... but all three of my CO flights are Express flights
on little RJ-145s... I just want to make absolutely certain
that they won't make me check-in the $52,000 violin.

Yes, it only contains one violin and one bow. (in case
someone makes funny comments... )

Thanks!

Should fit easily!

Based on the dimensions of a PC caae/backpack that I stick in there, you should have plenty of space. The 145 also has a small closet opposite the main door. If you bribe the FA, you could stick it in there as well.

i was on delta last week and a guy wanted to stow a guitarcase in the overhead - he was told to check it based on faa or tsb regulations that just came into effect (sounds like bull to me) according to the FA. He threw a fit and I think was allowed to stow it. You may want to ask about this and/or print our the relevant regulation which states you can take it on board.

I have a Tumi roller backpack type thing... Like 20" tall maybe and that was a tight fit on the ExpressJets....

When it comes to EJ flights the less you take on the better...
