EWR Connection question
I am looking at a flight with a 30 minute connection at EWR.
ERJ from BWI connecting to a 777. I am not familiar with EWR setup.
The ERJ gate is 101A and 777 usually C something.
Will I have to pass security again or is this in the same terminal?
Can I make it?
Thanks.

30 mins is tight but there is additional time built in to these short flights so unless you have a significant delay in BWI you should be fine. You arrive in the same term. (C) so no additional security. You should be OK!

Check out the terminal map. It's all Terminal C. If you actually pull into Gate 101, you will be in very good position to get to your next gate. If I'm not mistaken, the 777 will leave out of one of the gates in the left extension of the terminal (gates 120 to 139). No need to clear security again. Should be about a 5 minute walk or less.

Thanks for the help. I saw the terminal map but the 101A gate number made it look like it was in Terminal A instead of C.
Shouldnt be a problem at all.

*** sit up front in the RJ, and carry your luggage on (DO NOT check it)
If you are delayed from BWI by even 20 mins (delays into EWR routinely stretch into 1 hour, esp. with windy or otherwise bad weather), your conn time is down to 10 mins. That means the 777 doors may be closing as your plane pulls in.
You may well have to bolt off the RJ, wait a min or 2 for your bag in the jetway, and then RUN LIKE H*LL for the 777 gate.
I've had several reservations connecting thru EWR that were delayed on the originating leg, leaving me less than 10 minutes to get to my next flight. Running with luggage is a necessary skill when flying thru EWR.
Hopefully, all goes well, but plan for the worst and you'll likely be OK.
